Enhance your Kingdom Hall Sound System

An eight part document explaining how to prepare and connect a standard Windows XP desktop or laptop computer to your Kingdom Hall sound system that will add the following features:  1) an MP3 Music Player, 2) an MP3 Audio Recorder and 3) a flea power FM transmitter

Audio playing and recording software programs are free. Copying meeting audio files to a portable USB flash drive takes 10-15 seconds.  No CD's, no tapes!!!  All existing sound equipment remains connected and fully operable.   Persons with hearing impairment can sit anywhere and listen to the program with headphones in the same manner we've become accustomed to at District Conventions.

A brother provided this free documentation explaining in detail how to make this happen for your congregation.   The documents are available in our standard three formats, MS Word (DOC), Open Office 2.0+ Open Document Text (ODT) and Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF).   He also has kindly offered assistance via email to those non-technical individuals who desire it.   Please be considerate of his time when asking for assistance via email.

Sound System Operation Best Practices  (all sound documents available in our download center)

Brothers are often asked to help in the sound department without the benefit of training — or worse — given direction by someone who himself requires instruction.  Oral training is not permanent and can be inconsistent.  Only written instruction insures that all brothers receive the same set of guidelines. The document entitled Sound System Operation Guidelines can be used as a template to create your own set of instructions specific to your congregation.   This document makes it much easier by providing a professional description.

PA-Audio — This site has closed until further notice (still closed Dec, 06).   We hope it will reopen.

KH Telephone Patch System — A brother's site with equipment and information regarding linking KH sound to home phone/audio systems.   A lot of valuable information including conference bridge data.

Hearing Loop — Site showing how to locate and install an induction loop for the hard of hearing in auditoriums.  Applicable to Kingdom Halls and homes.

KHConf — A low cost KH dial-in conference service.   Up to 20 call-ins per congregation for a very low rate.

Remote Mast — A brother who has been supplying remote controlled microphone stands for over 20 years.   Very handy for circuit assemblies and even in some larger Kingdom Halls.

TeoTux — TeoTux is a simple AV-system for use in a Kingdom Hall. It implements all the following features in one easy-to-use interface: Audio recorder with optional chapters; Song player; Slideshow; Camera viewer(modern overhead projector); CD-player; Movie player; DVD player; CD burner utility; Multiple congregations; Multiple languages .. and more.  Linux fans will appreciate the play on words in the site's name.

Sharing techie things with our brotherhood.
