On Line Publications

Publications On line sources for older Watchtower publications

For friends who enjoy reading and/or collecting historic theocratic publications.   The problem is how to find them.   We list on this page links to sites that offer these either in electronic and downloadable format or for sale.   The links are separated into two groups, those stating they are operated by brothers, followed by a listing of secular sources.

Strictly Genteel — On line editions of out of print older Watchtower publications.   Also links to other publications sites.   Some very old materials such as "Three Worlds" by Nelson Barbour and Brother Russell.   Some audio files of interest.   Definitely worth a visit for theocratic history buffs.

e-cepher — Faith on the March by A.H. Macmillan. Written in 1957 and no longer available in print.   Excellent reading for students of theocratic history.   HTML version.

Hyperglossary of American English Hacker Theocratese — Very nice dictionary of theocratic terms familiar to Jehovah's Witnesses.   Includes examples of theocratic mannerisms meaning an often used term that was invented by Jehovah's Witnesses.   On line for some years now, a really fun read.   We recommend it highly.   Be sure to find out what an AMOOFL is!!

Golden Age Books — (description from the site's home page) Golden Age Books is a small family-run business based in the United Kingdom; we are all Jehovah's Witnesses and work for Golden Age Books part-time.   It is not exclusive - we are happy to supply anyone - Witnesses and non-Witnesses, although everything available on this site is, in our opinion, suitable and beneficial for the brothers to use.

Stan Milosevic's Theocratic Library — Pretty much what the title says.   Here's an excerpt from the site's description: These are my recommendations for books that we can add to our personal theocratic libraries.   The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society has provided much Bible study material for us that will help save our lives, make us grow spiritually strong, and assist us in becoming mature Christians.   The books listed here are extra reading material that we, as Jehovah's Witnesses, might enjoy.   They are positive and upbuilding and pertain to our history, beliefs, and way of life, both from the point of view of our brothers and secular writers.   The list also contains books that have been referenced by the Society in some meaningful way.   I have all of these books in my own library and have enjoyed them immensely and I can conscientiously recommend each and every one of them.   Also has a downloads section with many items of interest, audio, video, PDF and other materials.   Far more than we can list here.   Definitely worth a visit.

Commercial and Non-Witness Sites where older publications can be obtained.   These links are provided without endorsement, merely for reference.   Due caution is needed as we can't vouch for the accuracy of the information on the sites, although we have had reports from various ones who purchased items and were satisifed.

Alibris — Commercial site where individuals can sell or buy their old books.   Use the search feature to locate out of print Watchtower publications that are available.   This site serves as an intermediary to connect buyers and sellers.   Many people sell old books here so caution is needed.   Using a subject search is sure to return some apostate or other opposers' materials along with older publications by the Society.   The key to avoiding objectionable materials is to search by Author and use the term Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.   After doing a first search with either "Watchtower" or "Watch Tower" you should see in the upper right corner of the site a browse by author listing which will include the Society.   Click on that listing to eliminate all the objectionable materials and focus only upon legitimate material from the Society.   Another thing to keep in mind is that the items available at any given time will obviously vary.   So you may or may not find what you're looking for.

Old Lighthouse Books — This site is apparently not operated by one of Jehovah's Witnesses which is why it's separated from the other links.   Despite that, they do have a section of older Watchtower publications for sale.   It may be of interest if you're trying to fill out your theocratic library.   During the site hosting changeover we took another look at this site, and they appear to have mostly older yearbooks and bound volumes.

Research Applications International — This site offers reproductions of older Watchtower publications on CDs apparently in PDF format.   Again, we do not endorse the site or vouch for its contents but it may be of interest to individuals trying to round out a theocratic library and are satisfied with scanned reproductions.
